Birth Doula

Birth Doula Package - $1,800-2,200 (sliding scale based on the San Francisco AMI)

I work in partnership with birth and postpartum doula Anna Shaw. This means that you get the knowledge, and experience of working with two doulas. We talk a lot with our clients about self care and proper nourishment. Working in partnership helps us walk-our-talk in terms of taking care of ourselves, so the doula who arrives at your birth comes rested, prepared, and focused to support your family.

You will meet us both in a complimentary in person interview during which you'll be able to ask any questions you have and get a feel for if we'd be a good fit for supporting your family during this incredible, and intimate time.

As your birth doula team, we offer non judgemental physical, emotional and informational support, providing information and guidance as you prepare for your birth and while you labor.

In our package you will receive two prenatal visits - one from each of us, and we share 24/7 on call time for your family from weeks 38 to 42 of your pregnancy. The doula who attends your birth will also come to your home for a postpartum visit after the birth, to talk about your experience, answer any questions you have, and offer support and resources specific to the postpartum. We love the opportunity to fill in any gaps that come up in terms of support you need, and to see you and your little ones again!

We are committed to our work as doulas and honoured to hold space and empower the families we work with through information, and support, so that the whole family feels nourished and can grow and flourish in a supported and healthy way. We truly believe it takes a village, and are grateful for the part we get to play in the crucial early days and months of each family we have the privilege of working with.

Two Prenatal visits are arranged between weeks 32 and 36 of pregnancy. If you need support choosing a care provider, or birthing location, we offer a free phone call in addition to our two prenatal visits to discus your options, including helpful questions you might ask to determine the place you feel is right for your family (there is no right answer and we support families birthing in all settings including at home, at birth centers, and in hospitals).

During our prenatal visits we will focus on building a relationship of respect and trust among the birth team and cover topics such as your birth preferences, sensation management techniques for labor (including positioning, guided relaxation, and visualization, touch, aromatherapy, and the full range of tips, and tools from our doula toolbox).

As we are also postpartum doulas, we include time to prepare for the postpartum period, and help to create a pregnancy and postpartum wellness strategy that supports your individual needs, goals, and strengths. We tailor our visits to you specifically, and leave time to answer any questions about labor, birth, and postpartum. In our postpartum visit whoever attended your birth will come to your home or hospital to go over feeding your newborn, answer any questions you may have, and make sure your new family is set up and has the resources you need for a successful start!

Postpartum Doula

As a postpartum doula, I will support you as you transition into your new roles as parents, helping to increase your confidence levels and sense of wellbeing, with the goal of eventually working myself out of a job. Available for both daytime and nighttime support, the postpartum doula acts as an informational, emotional, and physical support for new parents, empowering them to develop a personal parenting style that is safe and nurturing for themselves and their newborn/newborns. Trained in postpartum parent and infant support, the postpartum doula acts as a safety net, checking in with parents and baby regularly, and making referrals when necessary to ensure any challenges that may come after birth are resolved quickly and safely.

My postpartum rate is $50/hr for daytime support, and $375/night for 8 hours of nighttime support. I believe that all families should have access to the support of a postpartum doula regardless of financial means. Please contact me at to enquire about my sliding scale rates if you require a reduced fee.
